“Raising children is expensive, but that hasn’t stopped Nic and Court from keeping their annual expenses below $25,000, even with a 2-year-old daughter,” reports Alesandra Malito.

“Of course, they do still buy clothes and toys for their daughter, Finn, but much of those purchases are secondhand or hand-me-downs. The car seat for their daughter was new, but otherwise they often rely on online community groups to find families who want to get rid of stuff their babies never or barely used.”

“Some of the latest [blogs] are no longer doling out sensible financial advice, but are instead advocating picking stocks and day trading,” writes Jim Dahle.

“They read like a cocktail party conversation, only talking about their winners, sharing carefully crafted screenshots demonstrating success, inspiring Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) while using carefully crafted disclaimers to try to absolve themselves of moral responsibility for the acts of their readers.”

“0.5% seems a bit crazy low to me.”

“I will also say that true 100% retirement may not suit me well. Intellectually, I know we don’t need more money, but I also know that I always have, and maybe always will, enjoy making money.”
